If you look at your ambitions for the future, what are the toughest problems you’ll have to work out in order to reach your goals? When I look at my projects, and think about my dreams for what I hope to accomplish, these are the challenges I will have to overcome:
How do I demonstrate my ability in a role that I do not have explicit experience in?
How do I create a schedule for my work that doesn’t take away from interest-led working?
How do I invest myself fully into my projects when I have so many projects?
How do I share my work with other people in a way that captivates them, and makes them want to be involved?
How do I stay dedicated when it seems like I am the only person invested in the outcome?
Can I build a team that is reliable enough to share my workload with?
How do I keep myself from getting burnt out?
How do I stay invested in projects that I cannot pursue at this time?
How can I be preparing myself to be more effective in my work?
How can I use my work to better myself, and my personal life?
How can I showcase my accomplishments in a way that impresses people who don’t already know who I am?
How can I make my portfolio speak for itself?
These problems are challenges that I face every day. I am constantly trying to find better ways to deal with these twelve questions. When you look at your projects, work, and personal life, what challenges do you face? I encourage you to identify those problems in your life so that you know what you’re working towards. Identifying the problem is the first step in solving it!
