Is Writing Difficult?

I have been writing a blog post every day for the month of October. The question that I get the most frequently is: Is it difficult to write every day? I will answer this question in the following post.

My answer…

I wouldn’t say that it’s hard. Not for me, at least.

Digging Deeper…

The actual process is easy. It is not difficult for me to sit down and write something every day. The writing is actually the easiest part of the whole process. I can see that it could be difficult for someone who is not comfortable talking or expressing their thoughts. However, I think that you can find ideas fairly easily.

In the middle of the difficultly scale lies time. It can be a challenge to schedule your writing time into your day. Sometimes responsibilities, or life in general, can get in the way. To compensate for this I keep reminders about writing, and make sure that I start at least an hour before my deadline.

The hardest part is the stuff that I cannot control. I am sometimes easily influenced by my mood. I will change my meal schedule, work habits, and more depending on my mood. So, it is hardest for me to write when I am sad. To be totally honest that effects my ability to do it more than anything else for one simple reason: It increases my resistance.

What about you?

Have you tried this challenge? What was your experience? Is it difficult for you to write? Share your thoughts in the comments!
